Bill Wente zag deze meestal niet-aangedreven Chevy Chevelle-cabriolet uit 1967 tijdens de herfst Carlisle PA Swap Meet in 1979. Hij was niet echt op de markt voor een auto, maar de oorspronkelijke staat van de aandacht van de auto trok Bill's aandacht. Een deal werd gesloten voor 1700 en Bill reed het naar huis naar Iowa die door 10 liter olie over de 1.000 mijl drive was. In de komende 30 jaar bevond de auto zich in verschillende stadia van demontage en restauratie. Langzaam maar zeker werd de Madiera Maroon -verf aangebracht, het lichaam werd herenigd naar het chassis en de 396ci -motor en de aandrijflijn werden zorgvuldig weer in elkaar gezet. Bill's doel om de restauratie te beperken en de auto te tonen bij de 2019 MCACN was werkelijkheid geworden. Auto World is vereerd om Bill's Chevelle te repliceren in Precise 1:18 Scale, net zoals het keek naar de 2019 MCACN!
